Rurouni Kenshin en
Rurouni Kenshin is a classic samurai manga set in the early Meiji era of Japan, mixing action, history, and deep character development.
The story follows Himura Kenshin, a former legendary assassin known as “Battousai the Manslayer.” After years of killing during the revolution, he makes a vow never to kill again. He now lives as a wandering swordsman (rurouni), helping people while carrying the weight of his past.
Kenshin uses a reverse-blade sword (sakabatou), which allows him to fight without taking lives. Despite his peaceful nature, his past keeps catching up with him, bringing dangerous enemies who challenge both his strength and his ideals.
One of the central characters is Kaoru Kamiya, who runs a dojo and gives Kenshin a place to belong. Along the way, he meets allies like Sanosuke and Yahiko, forming a small family.
The series is especially famous for:
- The Kyoto Arc (one of the best arcs in manga history)
- The villain Shishio Makoto, a brutal and powerful enemy
- Kenshin’s internal struggle between his past as a killer and his desire for redemption
- Emotional storytelling mixed with intense sword fights
Rurouni Kenshin is not just about battles, but about redemption, honor, and the meaning of protecting others without losing yourself.
